Springtime is a fabulous time of year for a tour of the Scottish Highlands and Islands. This year was no exception, and John was on tour with his guests to the Isle of Skye. The cold sunny weather was perfect for photography. The visibility on the majestic Cuillin Mountains was excellent.
The tour began in the ferry port of Oban on the west coast and carried on to colourful Portree. A drive around the stunning landscapes of Skye was topped off with a tasting of the peaty malt whisky at the famous Talisker Distillery.
Easter weekend can be a busy time but we made sure we had tickets booked in advance for the tour of the distillery and then the next day enjoyed the Sunday families at the atmospheric Fort Augustus on the Caledonian Canal.
