Susan and John Ross set up Sublime Scotland as a family owned tour operator business in 2014.

Susan

Susan studied at the ancient University of Aberdeen and before becoming a tour guide, she enjoyed a career in healthcare. Susan has lived all over Scotland and now feels very lucky to be near Stirling, on the edge of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park! She also enjoys her role as Trustee on the charity Stirling District Tourism, which manages the medieval Church of the Holy Rude as a visitor attraction.

Susan will ask you about your special interests and is your main point of contact during the planning of your memorable tour. She also enjoys guiding on tours as she loves meeting guests from all over the world.

John

John was born in the Highlands and has always had a passion for the outdoors. For many years John worked on the oil rigs of the North Sea, enjoying his time off at home to explore all the many mountains of Scotland. He has reached the summit of all the Munro’s in Scotland – 284 mountains all over 3000 feet!

John has had a life long interest in Scottish history and enjoys bringing to life the Wars of Independence or the Jacobite Rebellions of the 17th and 18th century. John also has a passion for customer service and makes sure each tour is one to remember!

They both enjoy cooking tasty Scottish food such as wild salmon, venison or Scotch lamb. Susan is a very keen photographer and put together some highlights of our tours in this short video. She took most of the photos – apart from those with her included!

John and Susan really care about giving clients a great tour and take time to find out about their interests.

They are passionate about exploring new places, and have together enjoyed trekking in the Canadian Rockies, New Zealand, Iceland, Tasmania and even honeymooned in Nepal! Whilst at home in Scotland they enjoy hillwalking in our two great national parks. Guests say that they give them a fun and informative tour, where old stories are brought to life. This is because they love taking them to all their favourite places in Scotland!
