Scotland has a long and rich history in the tradition of craft gin distilling. Over the centuries the spirit has fallen in and out of fashion but 2016 is seeing a huge increase in the number of gin lovers enjoying a new interest in had crafted gins.
With over 70% of the UK gin being produced in Scotland there is something for everyone here. Craft gins of Scotland are using freshly collected botanicals depending on what is available locally.
This weekend I was delighted to have a day off work - and to have my lovely hubby offer to be the driver! This meant I was able to take part in the Edenmill Gin tasting session. Possibly the only distillery I will visit in 2016 and be able to enjoy a taste as usually I am the driver and guide for my lucky guests!
The newly launched Scotland Gin trail takes us through some of the best of the Scottish landscape. Combined with some history, or retail therapy, this makes for a fun day out. Or add a few days together and create your own Tour.
