Springtime is one of the best seasons to tour with us around Scotland. The visibility is clearer with the cooler mornings. The weather can be changeable, but when high pressure arrives, as it has this week, it often stays around for a while.

Spring weather in Scotland
Our very happy tour guests this week hit it very lucky with the weather! From east to west the high pressure kept the rain away. Although cooler along the east coast, with a gentle easterly breeze keeping the temperature around 12C, over on the west coast it is rising day by day. The forecast for Friday is 19C in Inverness. Scots can become a little obsessed with the weather, but after a long winter it is a pleasure to see everyone smiling and happy to see the sun.
Less tourists come to Scotland in April and when the UK school holidays end, the excellent visits we offer as part of your tour, become much quieter. Even the route to the Isle of Skye, known to be busy in the summer months, becomes a pleasure to travel along once more.

Spring Flowers
There are so many gardens to choose from as we travel around Scotland in your private tour. Crarae Gardens, owned and run by the National Trust for Scotland, is a wonderful stop on the drive to Inveraray. The rhododendrons are in full bloom. The bulbs may be finishing for the season but the primroses offer colour along the borders and beds.

Dawyck Gardens
In the Borders Region, a quieter area for visiting in the Spring, the amazing Dawyck Gardens offers a hillside stroll through magnificent Redwoods and lichen covered beech trees, as well as a stunning array of stunning azaleas in late Spring. The cosy cafe offers hot drinks and snacks at the end of the walk. Even walking in the rain is fun in such a wonderful setting.
