St. Andrews was a great base for our inaugural Gallus Girls Gin Tour this Easter weekend based at the gorgeous St. Andrews on the east coast. Here is what the Gallus Girls thought about their trip.
Visited Arbikie Distillery on the Angus coast to meet Kirsty the master distiller and to sample her very own "Kirsty's Gin"! It was just perfect to hear first hand about the gin and the unique farm to bottle process. This fourth generation farm blends three potato varieties to make the perfect gin. The kelp, the carline thistle and the blaeberries make this unique taste.
To blow away the cobwebs a brisk stroll along the stunning Lunnan Bay came next. Voted one of Scotland's top five beaches it was easy to see why it was on the list!
The rest of the four day tour was a perfect blur of more tastings (Edenmill Distillery, St Andrews) and also a special tasting session at Luvians in the town. The cultural aspect of the tour was not neglected as the ancient Cathedral and Castle in the town were fully explored. Views from the Cathedral tower were clear, even on such a chilly day and a climb down into the Castle dungeons added adventure.
Falkland Palace was not to be missed and the oldest tennis courts in the world (even older than the Hampton Court tennis courts in London!) looked very inviting. Where is Andy Murray when you want a quick tennis lesson!!
